About the school
The school I am working with is looking for a dedicated One to One Teaching Assistant to support a student in year 3 with Autism/ASC. This role will not require personal care however the student can sometimes to regulate his emotions. The school has 12 classes, with 3 in each year group ranging from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. All of the classrooms at this school have interactive whiteboard technology. There is also a music room, computer sweet, and a brand new library. They even have an award-winning vegetable garden!

Pay
We understand that pay is extremely important and it must be clear and simple! For that reason we have chosen to pay our staff via PAYE only. Quoted rates are gross pay and your pay will never involve employer's NI deductions or admin fees.
Just as roles vary, so will the remuneration depending on the role requirements and your experience. You will often see these roles advertised as daily rates, please note that we pay PAYE only and rates will vary from £90 to £120 per day, depending on the role and your experience. Term Time salaries are therefore £17,550 - £23,400 Per Annum, please bear in mind that all school based work will be term time only so these salaries are based on 39 working weeks in an academic year.

We get most opportunities for band 6/7 OTs but we want to hear from overseas trained and newly qualified OTs too!

School hours are typically 8.30 to 3.30/4pm, so for our OTs looking to balance family life, this is a huge benefit. This also benefits our OTs who work privately or like to have free time to work on other projects!

Consult school staff such as Senior Leaders, SENCOs, and class teachers to support the integration of OT principles into the curriculum
Identify training needs amongst school staff and parents
Contribute to Annual Reviews as and when required

Providing strategies through coaching
Requirements for this Occupational Therapist (OT)
To work as a school based Occupational Therapist, you will need to hold a recognised Occupational Therapy degree, be HCPC registered and a registered member of the British College of Occupational Therapists. You will need solid paediatric OT experience, ideally working with a broad range of SEND to include Autism
Imaginative: It’s certainly worth keeping in mind that students may become discouraged during their treatment session so it’s important to remain imaginative to create a welcoming and accepting environment
Collaborative: It’s important to remain open to collaboration with your students’ team
Versatile: You will be based across a case load of schools and provisions for SEND, age ranges from primary to secondary with a broad spectrum of additional needs
Patient: Students may react to their OT sessions differently or could even feel defeated at times. In any case, remaining patient to keep them assured of their progress and maintaining a positive attitude will help to encourage the student during their sessions
Communicative: Keeping open communication with your students will help to offer them clarity and comfort around their progress, ultimately leading to a sense of encouragement. As well as communicating with students, OTs should possess strong communication skills in order to adequately explain updates to the students’ team members such as other therapists, teachers, and parents
This is a band 6/7 OT role and will require experience due to the autonomy of the role

I am looking to recruit professional and committed Therapeutic Support Workers, with solid experience working with complex mental health needs and other SEND. You will possess the ability to work with the teachers at their school hub and deliver the lessons set out by them with your assistance.
The children you will support will have a variety of needs which can include significant complex and co-morbid SEMH and ASC but additionally, all pupils have Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) as a common area of need. You will receive full training throughout your employment as a Therapeutic Support Worker but relevant, prior experience is essential. You will work autonomously or alongside another tutor to deliver your lessons set out by teachers at the education hub.
Therapeutic Support Worker requirements:
Experience of working with children or young people with complex SEMH as a primary diagnosis
Experience of supporting emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies/co-regulation
Ability to resolve conflicts by restorative practice
