An outstanding MS secondary school based in Newham, easily accessible by the Elizabeth Line are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to support a young boy in year 9 that has autism. This school is structured, supportive and has high standards when it comes to their students and staff, you will be in an environment that has a clear pathway set out for your long term goals and can offer extra training if you are open to it.
The role is to support a child 1:1 that has autism and learning difficulties, the childs' needs mean that he can become dysregulated and requires a TA that understands this and can set out a clear structure for him. You will need to be patient, empathetic, dedicated and committed to developing this child's education as well as his social and emotional needs. The child is within MS lessons and following the standard timetable, but this could be adapted in the future, you will be required to have fantastic communication skills for him and his family to keep them informed of his progress and positive changes you may be adding to his day to improve his behaviour.
The ideal candidate needs to have experience with autism and/or special needs, secondary aged is preferred but open to speaking to candidates that also have primary experience looking to work in a secondary setting.
