The School:
Parker Smith Inclusion are working with a "Good" inclusive school based in East London that caters for students that have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, neurodiversity, including ASC and associated conditions and non-life threating medical conditions. They are working from the national curriculum along side specialisms such as LIFE and enrichment opportunities. They also cater for post-16 children with SEMH and SLD, with links to colleges in the area they can support the children through to their employment using FAST.
The Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor you will be supporting a child and/or children that display the needs above, you will work with speech and language therapists, pastoral care and group co-ordinators to provide the child with the best possible support.
You will need to have the following experience;
1-2 Years experience within a school setting working with children that have SEMH and/or SEN.
Experience within a independent or PRU setting is favoured.
A trauma informed approach and training within this.
Open minded to working as an holistic and therapeutic approach.
Experience working with young children that have been exposed to trauma.
Experience working with children that have autism.
This school offers a 4.5 working day week and the afternoon of Friday is utilised for staff training, on-site gardening allotment, small classrooms and production and performance music studio.

The Role
Secondary Teaching Assistants. The role focuses on providing 1:1 support to students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including both high-functioning and non-verbal students.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored 1:1 support to students with PMLD and autism (high-functioning and non-verbal).
Assist with the educational, emotional, and physical needs of students.
Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider SEN team to ensure students are fully supported in their learning journey.
Help students with communication, including using visual aids, sign language, or assistive technology.
Support in class and during break times, ensuring students' safety and engagement.
Promote inclusion and positive social interaction within a mainstream environment.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with students with PMLD, high-functioning autism, and non-verbal communication challenges.
Confidence in managing complex needs and behaviours in a compassionate and calm manner.
Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students, teachers, and families.
Familiarity with 1:1 support and the ability to adapt to each student’s specific needs.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) are desirable but not essential.
