Your Role
As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Provide targeted support to students with autism, helping them access learning and develop key skills.
Assist in creating a calm and nurturing environment that supports individual sensory and communication needs.
Facilitate engaging activities using the provision’s excellent indoor and outdoor facilities.
Collaborate with teachers and therapists to deliver individualized education plans (IEPs).
Support students’ personal development and independence through structured and play-based learning.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Previous experience working with children with autism or special educational needs is essential.
Skills: A compassionate, proactive approach with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility: Willingness to support sensory-based interventions and outdoor activities.
Knowledge: Understanding of autism and strategies to support sensory and communication needs is an advantage.
Qualifications: Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.

Parker Smith Inclusion are working with an outstanding specialist school, that is part of a larger trust they are seeking SEN Learning Support Assistants to join their team. The provision supports up to 25 students, aged from secondary to post-16, who follow a subject-specific curriculum designed to develop independence and life skills alongside academic qualifications.
About the School
Located in the heart of Newham, the provision is purpose-built to meet the needs of our formal ASC learners. Facilities include:
Large classrooms for subject-based learning.
Therapy and common rooms for social, therapeutic, and life skills development.
A fully equipped kitchen for practical learning.
Outdoor spaces with a gym, sunken trampoline, covered area, and horticulture planters.
Students are supported to develop independence, gain ASDAN qualifications (E1–L2), and access enriching educational visits through excellent transport links.
Your Role
As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Provide tailored support to students with autism and communication needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop life skills.
Assist with therapeutic and social activities, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Support students in achieving ASDAN qualifications through targeted interventions and encouragement.
Help develop students' independence in life skills, including cooking, gardening, and social interactions.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure students receive consistent, individualized support.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD)?
Parker Smith Inclusion are working with a special school in Newham which is part of a larger trust and they will be looking for SEN Learning Support Assistants to join their team at a vibrant and supportive PMLD school. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with experience in working with children who have complex needs and a commitment to supporting their educational and personal development.
Offering movement therapy through exercise, trampolining, large sensory rooms, hydrotherapy and access to occupational therapists, speech & language therapists and music therapy on site.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored support to students with PMLD and SLD, helping them to access learning activities and achieve their potential.
Assist with personal care needs, including feeding, toileting, and mobility support, ensuring the dignity and comfort of each child.
Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
Use sensory and communication aids effectively to engage students in a meaningful and inclusive learning environment.
Monitor and record students' progress, sharing observations with the teaching team and contributing to assessments.
Requirements
Experience: Previous experience supporting children or young adults with PMLD, SLD, or complex needs is essential.
Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a nurturing approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
Flexibility: A willingness to assist with personal care and adapt to the unique challenges of working in a PMLD setting.
Knowledge: Familiarity with Makaton, PECS, or other communication systems is desirable.
Qualifications: A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is preferred but not essential.
