Nurture Teacher

Newham
North East London
£150 - £250 per day
Nurture Teacher Newham SEMH setting There are six principles of Nurture; transitions, learning, behaviour, language, wellbeing & safety, are these tools you use and take pride in within your current teaching role but don't feel satisfied with the setting you're in? Would you want to work in an accredited nurture school supporting high risk students? This PRU school has developed recently and gained their accredited nurture school status meaning they have created nurture classes for their KS3 students that are most at risk within the community and their personal lives. Teachers for these roles take a certain type of individual to have the nurturing approach but still have strong boundaries, using a trauma informed practice approach and understand the behaviours that come with trauma. Nurture in the classroom is for teachers to develop an inclusive, whole-class approach to help children develop the skills they need to engage with their learning and make the most of their time at school, targeted lessons would be PSHE, English & Maths, encouraging to work in pairs and groups, understanding your students mentally and meeting them where their needs are, not where you'd expect them to be. We've found that suitable candidates for this role could be a primary qualified teacher but looking to transition into SEMH as you have the nurturing, empathetic approach but you would need to have de-escalation techniques and the intelligence to intervene quickly to avoid conflict before it happens. Most of these students are struggling to express themselves and find it hard to understand meaning speech and language techniques would be a large part of your role. If this role speaks to you, you want to be able to express your skills within a PRU setting and really make a difference to some of the most vulnerable children in Newham please do apply or simply contact Elise @ Parker Smith Inclusion for any more details. Parker Smith Inclusion work with a large number of SEND schools and are therefore often recruiting for roles in special education. If this role is not quite right for you, please get in touch and we can spend time getting to know exactly how we can best support you in securing the right role for your SEND skills and experience.
