Learning Mentor – West London Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people with social emotional and mental health disorders? Do you have experience working with young people who are not able to attend mainstream school and have a background of behavioural challenges? I am actively seeking engaging and passionate Learning Mentors for schools that provide education to children who are unable to be educated in a mainstream school due to behaviour difficulties and SEMH. The children you will support will have a variety of needs which can include significant complex behaviour challenges and sometimes associated SEND. SEMH Education Settings We are looking for Learning Mentors for a variety of SEMH specialist settings including Pupil Referral Units, SEMH specialist schools, CAHMS Education services, Behaviour provisions within mainstream settings and Local Authority outreach teams. We support Education providers that educate children and young people who for many reasons cannot access any other formal educational settings – these are the most vulnerable, at risk and hard to reach in our community. Understanding their SEMH needs must be met before any academic development can happen. Understanding their SEMH needs is essential in these roles and we are seeking individuals who can make a positive impact. In any case, remaining patient to keep them assured of their progress and maintaining a positive attitude will help to encourage the student during their sessions Communicative: Keeping open communication with your students will help to offer them clarity and comfort around their progress, ultimately leading to a sense of encouragement.
