About the Role:

We are working with a warm and friendly mainstream school in Havering who need passionate TA's to join their supportive team. You will be working within a specialised Additional Resource Provision (ARP), a vital part of the school community that provides a structured and bespoke learning environment for children with a diagnosis or working diagnosis of ASD. This dedicated space offers a unique setting with purpose-built classrooms and calm, sensory-friendly areas designed to support pupils who may struggle in larger mainstream environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with experienced SEN teachers and fellow support staff to implement personalised learning programmes that encourage both academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Engage with children in tailored activities that develop speech, language, and social communication skills.
  • Collaborate with external professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists and Educational Psychologists, to enhance each child’s learning journey.
  • Support pupils in transitioning between the ARP and mainstream classrooms, encouraging positive interactions and integration within the broader school community.

Do you have?

  • Experience in an SEN or ASD-support role, or strong personal experience supporting children with ASD.
  • A commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where each child can thrive.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to adapt your approaches to the unique needs of each pupil.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a team-oriented setting with a pupil-centred approach.
