About the Role
SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Enfield
Salary: £85 - £95 per day (PAYE only)
Are you experienced in supporting children with Autism and seeking an opportunity to work in a specialist school?
A highly regarded specialist school in Enfield, catering to children with ASD, is looking for enthusiastic and compassionate ASD Teaching Assistants to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be able to foster positive relationships with pupils using engaging and motivating techniques. A strong understanding of autism and proficiency in total communication methods are essential.

Key Responsibilities as an ASD Teaching Assistant:
- Supporting children with autism in their academic and social development.
- Working on a long-term contract for the entire academic year, with potential for permanent employment.
- Participating in ongoing professional development, including training in Phonics, Makaton, PECs, and Colourful Semantics.
- Collaborating with a supportive team within a well-established specialist school.
- Playing a pivotal role in the social and emotional growth of a child with SEN through 1:1 support.
Requirements for the Role:
- Previous experience supporting children with ASD, whether professional or personal.
- A proactive and positive approach to helping children thrive in their development and wellbeing.
- Strong ability to build relationships with both students and staff.
- Ability to follow clear instructions while also using your initiative.
- Positive Behaviour Support experience (desirable but not essential).
