Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? Do you want to be part of a school that fosters a strong sense of community? Are you looking for an opportunity to work one-to-one with a child with Autism?
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a well-regarded mainstream primary school in Harold Wood. This school has an excellent reputation for providing high-quality education and great care for both pupils and staff.
The school is equipped with fantastic facilities, especially for children with SEND. They offer multiple breakout spaces designed for group learning and intervention sessions, ensuring students receive tailored support.
In this role, you will be working 1:1 with a child diagnosed with Autism. This child has communication needs and may exhibit challenging behaviour at times. We are looking for someone resilient, compassionate, and ready to make a meaningful impact in this rewarding position.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve supporting the child within the main classroom, helping them understand the tasks at hand and addressing any barriers to their learning. The school also offers access to specialist staff (e.g., Speech and Language Therapists), who provide training on specific areas.
For aspiring teachers, this school is an ideal environment to gain valuable experience and support on your journey towards a teaching career.
The Ideal Candidate
The perfect candidate for this role will have a genuine passion for working with children with SEND. You may be an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to deepen your skills in an SEN environment, or a recent graduate hoping to pursue a future career in teaching. Either way, this is a great opportunity to make a real difference in a child's life.
