I am working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in the London Borough of Redbridge, which is seeking a dedicated Hair and Beauty Instructor. This a brand new purpose built Hair & Beauty Salon and you will be able to be a part of something new within this school which is a great opportunity for someone proactive and ready to make a difference. They cater to students aged 11-16 with SEMH needs who are unable to attend mainstream education. Your role will involve teaching and guiding these students through their BTEC Level 2 Hair and Beauty qualification, helping them develop essential vocational skills and personal growth.
About the Role: As a Hair and Beauty Tutor in this specialist PRU, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons to students with complex emotional and behavioural challenges. You will work closely with other staff members to support the students' academic and social development, providing a safe and nurturing environment that encourages positive learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver BTEC Level 2 Hair and Beauty lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEMH difficulties.
Provide practical and theoretical instruction, assessing student progress and ensuring they meet the BTEC course requirements.
Work collaboratively with the wider SEMH team, helping to create a supportive, calm, and structured learning environment.
