SEN Specialist Behaviour Mentor

£100 - £120 per day/permanent annual salary
A prominent Special School for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues is seeking SEN Specialist Behaviour Mentors to support the learning and emotional development of its pupils, ranging from KS2-KS4.
Offering progression, development and extensive training, this school invests heavily in its staff and is dedicated about providing all pupils with the correct support to succeed, regardless of their backgrounds or the challenges they face.
An opportunity to analyse and investigate the mind of pupils who have experienced trauma and challenges with their mental health and social and emotional wellbeing, this role would be well suited to psychology graduates seeking to understand and learn how to best support the most vulnerable children in society. Experience working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and those with SEND is highly valuable in this role also.
The ideal SEN Specialist Behaviour Mentor may be/have…
- Experience working with children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health problems, trauma, and special educational needs and specific barriers to learning.
- Team Teach / Restraint Training.
- Trauma informed approach.
- Open and inclusive attitude.
- Experience with/knowledge of nurture principles.
- Engaging and creative individual with an ability to connect with and relate to pupils facing barriers to learning.
- Ambitious and hardworking.
