We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEMH setting that provides education for students unable to thrive in mainstream schools. - Focus: Supporting behaviour and learning in a secondary provision for students with SEMH needs
- Teaching: The role includes leading English lessons, so experience teaching or covering classes is highly desirable.
- Environment: Students are educated in a smaller, pathway provision, with core subjects in the morning and outdoor activities in the afternoon.
- Responsibilities: In addition to supporting behaviour and learning, you will have your own PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) time and will take the lead in delivering the English curriculum at this site.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience: Prior experience working with young people with SEMH, Autism, behavioural issues, trauma, sensory processing difficulties, or social communication challenges.
- Teaching: Ability to plan and deliver English lessons confidently, with experience in small group leadership.
- Skills: Strong relationship-building skills and a passion for supporting young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
- HLTA or Tutor Experience: Experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or tutor in a similar setting.
What We Offer:
