About the Role

SEND Teaching Assistant (Secondary)  

Long term contracts

£85 - £110 Paid PAYE

We are currently looking for SEND teaching assistants across the borough of Waltham Forest. The preferred person will be bursting with enthusiasm and real passion to support children with special education needs. We are looking for someone who is friendly and patient, and is able to build and maintain strong relationships with the children. Experience supporting SEN within a classroom is desirable, but equally if you have personal experience then you may have some fantastic transferrable skills so please get in touch.

Are you a teacher in a challenging environment to lead a class within a PRU? We are looking for qualified teachers to teach in Pupil Referral Unit’s across Haringey. The students at the PRU School have been removed from mainstream education and may show challenging behaviour, meaning the applicant must be okay with this and keep control in a disruptive environment. The successful applicants will be supported by SEN Teaching Assistants and Behaviour Mentors who will aid the teacher however possible within the class. Requirements of a PRU Teacher: SEN qualifications or experience To work and support students with Social, Emotional, Mental Health and Challenging behaviour To observe, assess and support students referred to the school from mainstream schools and to set strategies and behaviour targets based on reports and observations.
