About the Role
Science HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Newham - PRU - Long term to permanent
Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people who cannot access mainstream education and mental health disorders?
I am actively seeking an engaging and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA to work in a PRU specialist setting that provides education to children who are unable to be educated in a mainstream school due to their social emotional and mental health needs. I am looking for a HLTA who can deliver the Science curriculum to secondary aged students. I am looking to speak to professional and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistants to work in a SEMH setting in the East London area The role is working within the secondary department supporting behaviour and learning in class settings. There is no lesson planning required as the Teachers in place are very passionate about the subject and are more than happy to support you.
The right candidate doesn't need to have a large science background, it is preferred but enthusiasm for the subject, compassion & understanding for the students is what we are looking for.
HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant requirements:
● Experience of working with young people with SEMH, Autism, behavioural issues, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication
● Ability to plan and deliver Science
● HLTA or Tutor experience - leading small groups -
● Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
● A passion for working with young people with SEND
