About the Role
Psychology Graduate – SEND Teaching Assistant Role
Location: Kingston upon Thames
Daily Rate: £85 – £95 PAYE (dependent on experience)
Full-time | Term-time only | Immediate start available
Are you a passionate Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a supportive school environment?
Do you have an interest in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and a desire to make a real difference in the lives of young people?
We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Psychology graduate to join our warm and welcoming mainstream school in Kingston upon Thames. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with additional needs, work closely with our experienced SEND team, and gain invaluable experience in a school setting.
The SEND Teaching Assistant Role:
- Supporting pupils with a range of SEND, including Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language Needs and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health).
- Working both 1:1 and in small groups to help pupils access learning and build confidence.
- Collaborating with the class teacher, SENCO, and external specialists to implement individual support plans.
- Encouraging emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and inclusion across the school day.
- Helping to monitor progress and provide feedback on pupil development.
About You:
- A recent Psychology graduate (or related subject) with a genuine passion for education and inclusion.
- Interested in pursuing a career in educational psychology, teaching, therapy, or SEND.
- Patient, empathetic, and proactive – with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience supporting children (in school, tutoring, volunteering or similar) is desirable but not essential.
- A commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners.
