SEN Teacher - Newham - September 2025 - Special School
Location: London Borough of Newham
Salary: £35,000 - £48,000
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Full-Time (Term Time Only)
Are you a passionate and dedicated educator looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join our vibrant and supportive team at a specialist school in the London Borough of Newham.

About the Role: As an SEN Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored education and support to children with a range of needs, including:

Learning Difficulties

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Behavioural Challenges
-
Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)

Speech and Language Needs
You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to create and deliver individualised learning plans, ensuring that every child reaches their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of SEN pupils.

Assess, track, and report on the progress and development of students, adapting strategies to support their individual learning goals.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth.

Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to implement holistic support plans.

Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure consistent support for each child.
About You: To be successful in this role, you will need:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Proven experience working with children with SEN in a school setting.

Strong understanding of SEN strategies, including behaviour management, autism-friendly practices, and communication methods such as Makaton or PECS.

A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to teaching and supporting children with diverse needs.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
