About the Role
PMLD Teacher – Special School (Secondary) | Stratford, East London
Start Date: Easter 2025 or September 2025
Location: Stratford, East London
Contract: Full-time, Permanent (5 days per week)
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance inner London
Are you a passionate and dedicated PMLD Teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity? We are seeking a qualified teacher (QTS essential) to join a well-established special school in Stratford, supporting secondary-aged students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).
This school is part of a larger trust meaning there are plenty of opportunities for development and growth for, middle leadership or SLT roles.
The Role:
- Plan and deliver highly differentiated, engaging lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with PMLD.
- Use AAC, sensory learning, and multi-modal communication strategies to support student engagement.
- Work closely with a dedicated team of teaching assistants, therapists, and SEN specialists to ensure a holistic approach to learning.
- Provide a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every student can thrive.
- Commit to full-time hours (Monday–Friday) with a long-term mindset.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential
- Experience working with students with PMLD and complex needs
- Understanding of PECS, Makaton, sensory-based teaching, and assistive technology
- Strong behaviour management skills and a student-centred approach
- Ability to work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals
