About the Role
Learning Support Assistant (LSA) / Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Large Primary School in Barking and Dagenham
Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a vibrant and inclusive school community? We are looking for dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and Teaching Assistants (TAs) to join a supportive team in a large primary school in Barking and Dagenham. The school is well-known for its nurturing atmosphere and has a thriving ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) specialist unit.
Role Overview:
- Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday to Friday
- Pay: £85–£90 per day (PAYE)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with ASD and SEMH needs, helping them to thrive within the school environment.
- Embrace a proactive approach in the classroom and around the school, contributing to a positive learning atmosphere.
- Understand that all behaviours are a form of communication, showing patience, empathy, and adaptability in all interactions.
- Work closely with teaching staff and specialists to implement personalised learning plans and behavioural strategies.
- Be willing to learn and grow as part of our dedicated team, with opportunities for training and development.
What We’re Looking For:
- A genuine passion for working with children with SEN, ideally with experience or a strong interest in ASD and SEMH.
- A proactive, supportive, and positive approach.
- Strong communication skills and an understanding of behaviour as a form of communication.
- Willingness to be a team player and take on new learning opportunities.
