About the Role

Intervention Teaching Assistant - East London 

Location: East London
Contract Type: Full time, long term contract
Working Hours: Term Time, Full time Mon-Fri 

Are you a compassionate and skilled educator with a passion for helping students overcome challenges and achieve their potential?

We are seeking an experienced Intervention Teaching Assistant to join a MS School to support children with SEMH that is causing them to fall behind on their subjects, such as English & Maths.

About the Role: As an Intervention Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver specialised interventions to students who require additional support. Your role will focus on improving academic outcomes and promoting emotional well-being through tailored sessions in the following areas:

  • Mathematics and English support

  • Emotional regulation

  • Self-development

  • Anxiety control

  • Anger management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver small-group or one-to-one interventions to support students' academic, emotional, and social needs.

  • Monitor and assess students' progress, adapting interventions as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.

  • Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate intervention strategies into the wider curriculum.

  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students to foster confidence and engagement.

  • Support students in developing resilience, self-regulation, and positive coping strategies.

  • Maintain accurate records of intervention sessions and communicate progress to teachers, parents, and carers.

About You: To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in delivering interventions in Maths, English, and emotional development.

  • A strong understanding of strategies to support students with anxiety, anger management, and self-regulation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with students.

  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to addressing students' individual needs.

  • A relevant qualification in education or child development is desirable but not essential.
