Are you a qualified English teacher with SEMH experience, or are you a qualified mainstream teacher now looking to work within an SEN setting?
I am now working with a fantastic school in the London Borough of Greenwich whose core values include encouraging their pupils to excel academically, build positive relationships with their peers and adults, and to make positive contributions as independent and confident learners. They are now seeking a GCSE English Teacher to join their fantastic team. The school recognises that children with SEMH needs are among the most vulnerable in our society, and they are seeking individuals with can have a positive impact.
Requirements of a GCSE English Teacher:
- QTS/QTLS would be highly valued for this role, however the school is also open to working with unqualified teachers who have relevant experience
- Recent SEN experience would be highly valued for this role
- The successful candidate will have a proven record of positive pupil progress and be passionate about improving outcomes for pupils
- To work with pupils with Social, Emotional, Mental Health and Behavioural Difficulties
- To observe, assess and support pupils referred to the school from mainstream secondary schools and to devise strategies and behaviour targets based on schools’ reports and observations
- To liaise with Management, SENDCo’s and class teachers in all aspects of the work in schools and to be able to adapt to the different philosophies and requirements of a variety of schools in order to maintain a good working relationship
- To be prepared to offer advice to parents and work with them to support their child.

We are working with a lovely specialist school based in Central London who are looking to recruit an ICT Teacher. This role would suit an ICT Teacher who is looking for their next challenge or someone who is wanting to explore and specialise in a special educational setting. This role would suit colleagues from a range of teaching backgrounds including mainstream and specialist settings.
The school aims to provide the highest quality education to students with special educational needs. The school caters for a range of special education needs, primarily high-functioning autism, anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA). All students will be able to follow a differentiated National Curriculum, with the aim of achieving a range of recognised qualifications at Key Stage 4 and 5 including Entry Level, Functional Skills and GCSEs and other Level 2 qualifications.
The role:
Plan, design and lead their subject area, including delivering the curriculum across the secondary age range (Yr7 – Yr11), with experience of teaching up to GCSEs and other Level 2 qualifications.
Work alongside Primary and Post 16 colleagues to ensure a sequenced learning journey through all stages of the school.
Have an interest and a passion for working with students with special educational needs.
Have the ability to form positive and trusting relationships with students based on consistency, firm boundaries and making learning exciting and challenging.
Contribute to all aspects of the school, including the student’s personal development. For example, running school clubs or supporting on school trips.
Have a professional attitude that is open to learning, innovative ways of working, accepting of change and school development, flexible and adaptable when faced with challenges and problems.
Requirements for the role
Have successfully completed teacher training (holding either QTS, QTLS or be within your four years as an OTT - PLEASE NOTE - this role is not suitable for FE trained teachers without QTLS or unqualified teachers)
Have experience teaching ICT/Computing
Have proven teaching & learning experience
Have the energy, passion & drive to raise standards
Ideally you will have experience working with students with SEND including ASD
