About the Role
English Teacher – Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025 | Mole Valley, Surrey
Salary: £24,000 – £48,000 per annum
“I’m not good at English.”
Too many pupils believe this before they’ve even had a fair chance. They’ve lost confidence, stopped trying, or been told—directly or indirectly—that their voice doesn’t matter. You know better. You know that every pupil can rediscover their voice with the right support and environment.
And this could be the place to help them do just that.
A School Where Every Pupil Matters
Nestled in the heart of the Surrey countryside, this new and purpose-designed specialist setting offers a fresh start for children with autism and social, emotional, or mental health needs. With class sizes typically between 6 to 8 pupils, supported by dedicated SEN Teachers and Learning Support Assistants, every learner receives the attention they deserve. The setting has been thoughtfully developed to create a calm, nurturing, and inspiring atmosphere for the pupils and the staff who support them. You’ll benefit from:
- Spacious, well-resourced classrooms with access to specialist areas, including a theatre room, design technology suite, and science lab
- A team of experienced therapists working alongside teaching staff every day
- Outdoor learning across 40 acres of woodland, including a forest school and a heated swimming pool
- A timetable designed to allow for therapeutic interventions, personal development, and creativity
Teaching English with Purpose and Flexibility
Here, English teaching is about more than just test results. You’ll have the freedom to design learning that fits the learner—unlocking the joy of reading, building confidence in creative writing, or helping a pupil speak up in front of peers for the first time. Literacy becomes a tool for self-expression and confidence, not just a subject to pass. Whether a pupil is discovering the rhythm of poetry or crafting their first story, you’ll be at the heart of life-changing progress. And if you’re new to SEND? That’s not a barrier here. Comprehensive, ongoing training is provided from day one, ensuring that you feel supported, equipped, and inspired.
A Team That Invests in You
You’ll join a forward-thinking and supportive team that understands that well-supported staff create the best student outcomes. Whether you’re aiming to deepen your expertise, trial innovative approaches, or step into a leadership role in the future, you’ll find meaningful development opportunities here.
If this sounds like a good match for your passion and purpose, we’d love to help you take the next step. Whether in this position or other roles within specialist settings, we support your journey.
