About the Role
Art/Media Teaching Assistant (TA) Role – Post-16 Cohort (Art/Media Pathway) - Croydon
4 days per week, term time only
£90-£110 per day (dependent on experience)
A well resourced SEMH school with excellent team in SE London are looking for a committed and experienced Art/Media Teaching Assistant (TA) to join their post-16 team, working four days per week to support students with their academic and personal development.
About the Art/Media Teaching Assistant Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with the post-16 cohort, particularly those following Art and Media pathways, providing tailored support to meet their educational and emotional needs. The role requires a strong understanding of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside effective behaviour management skills.
Art/Media Teaching Assistant Essential Requirements:
- Extensive experience working with students with SEMH needs, ideally within a post-16 or similar educational setting.
- A proven ability to engage and support students with additional educational needs.
- Competence in supporting KS5 Art/Media pathways, including a solid understanding of the subject content and supporting students to achieve their goals.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with young adults.
Desirable Skills and Attributes:
- A background or qualifications in Art/Media, aligning with the KS5 curriculum.
- A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to create a supportive learning environment.
- Experience in supporting students through transitions to further education, training, or employment.
