Oversee Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and ensure all statutory requirements are met. Provide support, training, and guidance to teaching staff to promote inclusive practices throughout the school. Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and evaluate the school’s SEND policy and ensure it aligns with the school’s vision. Requirments for SENCO role; A qualified teacher with QTS and significant experience working with children with SEND. National Award for SEN Coordination (or a commitment to achieving it within 3 years). In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation. Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and external professionals.
