About the Role
Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Barking
Salary: £85 per day
Working Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week
I am working with a wonderful primary school in Barking, who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will provide one-on-one support to a student during morning sessions and facilitate small group learning in the afternoons. The school is a vibrant and inclusive Mainstream Primary school, committed to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment, they ensure that every student achieves their full potential. Key Responsibilities:
- Offer personalised assistance to a designated student with special educational needs
- Lead and support small group activities in the afternoons, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers and SEN coordinators to implement tailored learning plans
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to relevant staff and parents
- Promote positive behaviour and social interactions among students
- Be a positive role model
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's educational development
