SEN Teaching Assistant (Unqualified)

Role Overview:
- Provide support for children and young people aged 3-19 with Autism/ASC, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
- Offer emotional and behavioural support.
- Pay: £85 - £100 per day (PAYE); paid weekly.
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM (term-time only).
- Potential for permanent placement.
- Immediate start available.
The school, located in Kingston, Surrey, is looking to fill this role as soon as possible. This specialist position demands dedication, a readiness to learn, and a positive outlook. The students have a wide range of learning needs, including Autism/ASC. Some are non-verbal, may exhibit dysregulated behaviour, and some have physical disabilities requiring wheelchair use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), particularly those with Autism/ASC, SLD, and PMLD.
- Using alternative communication methods like PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and Makaton (sign language).
- Assisting with personal care and hydrotherapy when required.
- Maintaining excellent communication and time management.
- Bringing a positive, committed attitude to the role.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in SEN support, particularly with Autism/ASC, SLD, or PMLD (personal experience also considered).
- Comfortable with personal care responsibilities and supporting in hydrotherapy.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
- Strong timekeeping skills and a willingness to commit fully to the role.
