About the Role
LOCATION: Havering
START DATE: ASAP
CONTRACT TYPE: Long term
PAY: £80 - £90 per day PAYE
Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Or are you new to SEN education but bring a strong personal background in supporting children with ASD? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join an inclusive and nurturing team.
About the Role:
We are working with a warm and friendly mainstream school in Havering who need passionate TA's to join their supportive team. You will be working within a specialised Additional Resource Provision (ARP), a vital part of the school community that provides a structured and bespoke learning environment for children with a diagnosis or working diagnosis of ASD. This dedicated space offers a unique setting with purpose-built classrooms and calm, sensory-friendly areas designed to support pupils who may struggle in larger mainstream environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with experienced SEN teachers and fellow support staff to implement personalised learning programmes that encourage both academic and social-emotional growth.
- Engage with children in tailored activities that develop speech, language, and social communication skills.
- Collaborate with external professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists and Educational Psychologists, to enhance each child’s learning journey.
- Support pupils in transitioning between the ARP and mainstream classrooms, encouraging positive interactions and integration within the broader school community.
Do you have?
- Experience in an SEN or ASD-support role, or strong personal experience supporting children with ASD.
- A commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where each child can thrive.
- A proactive approach and the ability to adapt your approaches to the unique needs of each pupil.
- Enthusiasm for working in a team-oriented setting with a pupil-centred approach.
This is an incredible opportunity to make a huge difference in a supportive school community. Join us in creating a positive, impact-driven learning experience tailored to the needs of each child.
