£90-100 Per Day PAYE

Are you a strong and resilient Teaching Assistant looking for a challenging and rewarding role in a fantastic secondary school for children with SEMH needs?
Do you have experience working with in a PRU or similar setting?
Here at Parker Smith Inclusion, we are working with an alternative provision based in the heart of Redbridge. They are looking for Mental Health Teaching Assistants to make a difference to these students lives by acting as a positive role model as well as providing good academic knowledge to provide support in lessons to ensure the best is achieved from each student. The students will all have a diagnosis of either ASD or Social Emotional Mental Health and cannot attend mainstream school, the students are KS3 and KS4.
Requirements of a Mental Health Teaching Assistant
- Experience with challenging behaviour – this role would really suit someone who has worked in a PRU or SEMH school, has work as a Pastoral Officer in a school, or has experience with challenging behaviour as a Youth Worker.
- Experience working to support pupils with physically and emotionally challenging behaviour
- A resilient personality and an ability to build rapport quickly with staff and students.
- De-escalation training would be a bonus for this role, however, the school do also provide their own specialised de-escalation training
- An interest in mental health and seeing behaviour as a form of communication is essential for this role
