About the Role
Secondary SEN Learning Support Assistant – A Role Where You Can Truly Make a Difference
Location: Barking & Dagenham
Pay: £85-£100 per day (PAYE)
Have you ever felt like you’re capable of more—but your current role just isn’t allowing you to grow?
Maybe you’re supporting students with SEN or SEMH in a classroom where you’re stretched too thin, feeling like you’re not making the impact you know you could. Or perhaps you’re a graduate looking to take your first step into education but want a role that is meaningful, challenging, and rewarding.
This mainstream secondary school has a specialist provision for students who need additional support due to their SEN or SEMH needs. It’s a setting where your skills, patience, and resilience will help young people access learning in a way that works for them.
Why this role?
- Smaller, focused group work – get to know the students and their individual needs
- Support students who struggle in a mainstream setting, helping them build confidence and develop skills
- Work in a school that values a trauma-informed approach to behaviour – understanding students rather than just managing them
- Join a setting where staff are supported and appreciated, not just expected to ‘get on with it’
- Be part of a provision where your experience and strength matter – this isn’t just a ‘teaching assistant’ role, it’s about being a role model, an advocate, and a consistent presence for students who need it most
Why work with Parker Smith Inclusion?
- Access to CPD to enhance your skills and career prospects
- PAYE payments – no umbrella companies or hidden deductions
- Exclusive access to SEN and SEMH roles, meaning we can help you find the right fit
- A knowledgeable and supportive team that understands the sector and genuinely cares about your next step
