About the Role

Science Teacher PRU 

Location: Islington

Salary: MPS/UPS 

Long Term Position

We are seeking an experienced and confident Science Teacher for a Secondary PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) to join their committed team. The PRU is looking for a candidate who is up for a challenge and passionate about teaching assistant school students who are at risk of exclusion.

The PRU is a trauma informed school, they teach children who have been permanently excluded or participate in their preventative programmes for their behaviour, and children with complex SEMH needs.

Both primary and secondary trained teachers interested are encouraged to apply

Main Duties:

  • To plan lessons and teach Science across secondary
  • Responsibility for tracking pupil progress and monitoring to support teaching and learning
  • Deliver dynamic and creative lessons
  • Built positive relationships with students, parents and carers
  • Experience supporting students with challenging behaviour and social, emotional and mental health

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A thorough understanding of the National Curriculum for Science
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A strong sense of empathy, patience, and resilience, with the ability to remain calm and focused in challenging situations
