School Counsellor

A specialist school in North East London is recruiting for a dedicated and qualified Counsellor to join its Therapy team, and provide essential support for students with SEMH.
About the Role
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll work closely with other professionals to deliver tailored therapeutic support to students. This role would suit someone with experience in a special needs environment, but we also encourage applications from newly qualified Counsellors ready to bring fresh energy and commitment to this important role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate your own caseload, implementing personalised EHCP/treatment plans.
- Plan and deliver interventions for individual or group therapy
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to annual review processes.
- Build and sustain close working relationships with teaching and support staff to ensure therapy aligns with the school’s ethos and statutory regulations.
- Promote therapy services within the school to support business growth and reach personal targets.
- Facilitate training for school staff in line with EHCP requirements.
About You
- Qualifications: Current membership with BACP, UKCP, or equivalent accrediting body.
- Commitment to CPD: Willing to complete CPD as required by your accrediting body, and to attend regular supervision.
- Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively engage students, staff, carers, and stakeholders.
