About the Role
PRU Teaching Assistant – Be the Difference That Changes a Life
Location: Barking & Dagenham
Pay: £90 - £100 per day (PAYE)
Temp to Perm - Full Time
Think back to a time when you just needed someone to look beyond your actions and truly understand what you were going through.
For students in Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), their behaviour often reflects frustration, struggles, or feeling unheard rather than their true potential. PRUs provide a second chance—a place where young people can rebuild trust, reconnect with learning, and discover their own strengths. With the right guidance, they can overcome obstacles and succeed.
Why Work in a PRU?
🔹 Smaller class sizes – Build strong, meaningful connections with students.
🔹 A tailored curriculum – Help young people rediscover a love for learning in a way that works for them.
🔹 Trauma-informed approaches – Focus on understanding and support, not just discipline.
🔹 Emphasis on emotional well-being – Be part of a school culture that puts students' mental health first.
🔹 Make a real impact – Help students regain confidence in themselves and their future.
