About the Role
Food Technician Teaching Assistant – Full-Time, Term Time Only
Newham, East London, Immediate Start
Are you an enthusiastic and proactive Teaching Assistant in food technology? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to join a specialist SEMH school in Stratford,, supporting students with additional needs in both classroom and practical kitchen settings. You will be focusing on food technology as your subject for two days of the week then covering HLTA and support for the other 3 days of the week.
The children at the school have social, emotional, mental health needs, SEN needs such as autism, learning difficulties and behaviour challenges, you need to have minimum 2 years experience within this type of setting or supporting children with these needs.
Role Details:
- Position: Teaching Assistant with Food Technician Experience
- Location: Newham
- Contract: Long Term Contract
- Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Start Date: ASAP
- Interviews: Taking place as soon as possible
Responsibilities:
- Supporting students in their learning, both in general classroom activities and within food technology sessions
- Assisting with the preparation of ingredients and resources for food tech lessons
- Helping to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment
- Providing tailored support to students with additional needs, ensuring they can engage fully in lessons
- Working closely with teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive and positive learning environment
Requirements:
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or similar role
- Knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, and safety procedures
- A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to supporting the educational and personal development of students
