SEND Teaching Assistant London Borough of Croydon Immediate Start SEMH Setting We here at Parker Smith are seeking a dedicated, creative and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a Year 12 student with complex needs. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, proactive, and resilient, with a strong passion for supporting young people in a specialised setting. This incredibly rewarding role is with a student who has an acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy, ADHD and learning difficulties. Their behaviour can be dysregulated and unpredictable and at time can include self-harming. The student loves role playing, music, swimming and their family. Key Responsibilities: Provide consistent, personalised support to the student both in and out of the classroom Assist in managing behaviours that may be challenging, ensuring the student’s safety and wellbeing Create a calm and structured environment, minimising risks and distractions Help the student engage with educational activities at a comfortable pace, adapting the curriculum where necessary Facilitate positive social interactions, particularly with adults, while supporting gradual reintroduction to peer activities Collaborate with other staff members to provide a tailored educational experience for the student Why work with us? SEMH PE Teacher East London Immediate Start Are you passionate about teaching students with social emotional and mental health disorders? We are looking for a PE Teacher for a specialist SEMH school based in East London. The school caters for students who are unable to access mainstream education and have very complex mental health needs. The students will have suffered many adverse childhood experiences including trauma and toxic stress and require a therapeutic approach to their learning and support. We support Education providers that educate children and young people who for many reasons cannot access any other formal educational settings – these are the most vulnerable, at risk and hard to reach in our community. Understanding their SEMH needs must be met before any academic development can happen. Understanding their SEMH needs is essential in these roles and we are seeking individuals who can make a positive impact.
