Learning Support Assistant

If you are a resilient person who is looking for a new, challenging role supporting young people with behaviour and social, emotional and mental health needs, then this is the role for you!

We are working with a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) based in central London that are seeking passionate and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join their team. The school offers education to primary and secondary students who may be on a short-term or longer-term placement as they cannot attend mainstream education. This will be due to their challenging behaviour, social, emotional and mental health needs and can be other additional needs.This role will be based within their secondary site supporting students in Key Stage 3 & 4.

Learning Support Assistant role;

  • Supporting students with challenging behaviour and social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Class sizes will be no more than 6 students
  • Working 1:1 and within small groups
  • Supporting young people with their learning needs
  • Building strong and meaningful relationships

Learning Support Assistant Requirements;

  • To have previous school or relevant experience supporting challenging behaviour
  • To be resilient and passionate about helping young people succeed
  • If you have a passion for sports, music or other interests, this can be welcomed into the role
  • To be flexible and willing to help support across the school in primary and secondary if needed

Specialist Intervention Teacher Pupil Referral Unit Islington Would you be keen on a new challenge supporting students not in the classroom? We are working closely with a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) in central London, who are seeking teachers to deliver education offsite and onsite for pupils in key stages 3 & 4 who are not managing in the PRU. Within the role it would be essential for the successful candidate to be able to teach across the key stages and curriculum, but lead on specialising in either English, Maths or humanities. This will be teaching in the students home, within the local community as well as at the school. Primary, secondary and middle school teachers are welcomed to apply for this role. The school supports pupils from key stages 1 – 4 in a nurturing, attachment-aware, safe environment. They focus on supporting pupils’ mental health through a therapeutic approach and have access to many therapeutic interventions. They are seeking a passionate and experienced SEMH Teacher to join their Secondary site in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Mental Health in years 8/9 following a primary model and curriculum. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing and delivering high-quality lessons, providing pastoral care and support, and helping students to develop their academic, social, and emotional skills. What the school will expect from you; Plan, prepare and deliver lessons tailored to meet the needs of the students with SEMH needs. Monitor progress and provide feedback to parents and colleagues Work with other professionals to develop and implement individual education plans To be experienced and comfortable with challenging behaviour Having a therapeutic approach Develop positive and trusting relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
