About the Role
Exciting Opportunity: Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Needed in South West London!
ASAP Start, Monday to Friday (term time only)
£85 - £100 PAYE Per Day
I am working with a number of SEN schools in South West London and they are looking for several Learning Support Assistants to join them ASAP.
This Learning Support Assistant position is on a full-time, 5-day-a-week, temp-to-perm basis. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting students with additional needs and keen to make a positive impact across the primary and secondary phases.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting students with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), PMLD (Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties), SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs), and other forms of dysregulated behaviour. Your specific focus within these year groups will be determined based on your experience and the school’s current needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Small Group Support: Work directly with students in need of additional support, in small group settings, tailoring your approach to suit individual needs and goals.
- Collaborative Planning: Work closely with classroom teachers, SEN coordinators, and other LSAs to develop and implement effective support plans that align with each student’s needs.
- Creating a Positive and Creative Learning Environment: Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere that enables students to engage positively with learning.
Ideal Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Profile:
- Experience with SEN Needs: Prior experience working with children or young people with ASD, ADHD, SLD, PMLD or SEMH is essential.
- Patience and Compassion: You bring a calm, empathetic, and understanding approach to your work, with the flexibility to adapt to different student needs and situations.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families, contributing positively to a cohesive support team.
