About the Role

Parker Smith is delighted to be working with a welcoming all-through school in Thurrock, renowned for its inclusive and supportive approach to education. We are seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a full-time, five-day-a-week, temp-to-perm basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students with additional needs, helping them thrive across both primary and secondary phases.

The Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs), and other behavioural challenges. Working across Key Stages 1 to 4, your focus will be shaped by your experience and the school’s needs.

Key Responsibilities:

1:1 and Small Group Support – Provide tailored assistance to students, ensuring they receive the support needed to achieve their full potential.
Behavioural and Emotional Support – Implement strategies to help students manage their emotions and behaviours in a positive, structured way.
Collaborative Planning – Work closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and fellow LSAs to develop and implement personalised support plans.
Creating a Positive Learning Environment – Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging atmosphere that promotes student success.

What We’re Looking For:

✔️ Experience with SEN – Previous experience supporting children or young people with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or behavioural challenges is essential.
✔️ Patience & Compassion – A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with students.
✔️ Strong Communication Skills – Ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and families to ensure cohesive support.
