Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with complex needs, including autism and physical disabilities.
  • Assist students with both verbal and non-verbal communication needs.
  • Support students with personal care as required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
  • Help manage behavioural challenges in a calm and proactive manner, in line with the school's policies.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure each child receives the appropriate care and education.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young adults with complex needs, including autism, physical disabilities, and behavioural challenges.
  • A strong understanding of supporting students with both verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Willingness to carry out personal care duties, ensuring a dignified approach.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with other professionals, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to working 5 days per week.
