Parker Smith is proud to be working with a specialist ASD school in Chelmsford, dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children with autism. We are seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The school works closely with families to prepare students for adulthood by equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to navigate the world with increasing independence. With a new, purpose-built facility set to open in 2025, this is an exciting time to join their growing team.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with autism, helping them engage with their learning and develop essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities:

1:1 and Small Group Support – Provide tailored support to students, ensuring their academic and social progress.

Behavioural and Emotional Guidance – Implement strategies to support students' social, emotional, and behavioural development.

Collaborative Planning – Work alongside teachers, SEN coordinators, and support staff to create effective learning plans.

Encouraging Independence – Help students develop confidence and essential skills for independent living.
Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience with Autism and SEN – Prior experience supporting children or young people with autism is highly desirable.

Patience and Empathy – A calm, adaptable, and understanding approach to working with students with additional needs.

Strong Communication Skills – Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.

Commitment to Inclusion – A passion for creating an environment where every child is valued and supported.
