About the Role

As Deputy Headteacher, you will play a key role in the leadership of the school, working closely with the Head of School to create a thriving, happy, and successful learning environment. You will be instrumental in driving school improvement, developing staff, and ensuring that every student has access to high-quality education and support.

This is a hands-on leadership role, so you will also teach a portion of the timetable, leading by example and ensuring that students benefit from engaging and effective lessons. Alongside your teaching, you will work to shape the school's strategic direction, mentor and support staff, and champion a culture of inclusion, achievement, and well-being.

Your Responsibilities

As Deputy Headteacher, you will:
Support the Head of School in leading and managing the school, ensuring its vision and values are upheld every day.
Drive school improvement, helping to create and implement policies that enhance teaching, learning, and student progress.
Lead and mentor staff, offering guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure the highest standards of education.
Play a key role in safeguarding, acting as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to ensure all students are safe, supported, and able to thrive.
Build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and external partners, ensuring a collaborative and supportive school community.
Teach a portion of the timetable, delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire students and set the standard for excellent teaching.
Oversee curriculum development, assessment, and student progress tracking to ensure that all learners receive the right level of challenge and support.
Foster a culture of well-being, inclusion, and aspiration, where every student and staff member feels valued and empowered.

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and experience in a leadership role.
