Autism Support Assistant

- Full-Time, Long-Term
- £85 - £100 per day PAYE

About the Autism Support Assistant Role/Where you fit in:
- Working with children and young people with Autism and other learning disabilities, who experienced heightened sensory needs
- Working both on a 121 and small group basis
- Using therapeutic approaches, sensory based support work, and working alongside additional therapists such as; Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, ELSAs and more.
- Ability to build lasting bonds with pupils who may communicate in various ways
- Previous knowledge and use of; PECs, Makaton, Social stories etc
- Someone who understands that this role is bigger than simply sitting in the classroom, and is willing to get involved in all aspects of school life.
- An individual who is keen to help young people become as independent as possible, and leave school equipped with functional skills.
