About the Role

Youth Learning Mentors - Pupil Referral Unit - ASAP Start

Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people who cannot access mainstream education due to their social, emotional and mental health?

I am actively seeking engaging and passionate Learning Mentors to work in a SEMH specialist school that provides education to children who are unable to be educated in a mainstream school due to behavioural difficulties. I am looking to speak to professional and committed Learning Mentors to work in a SEMH setting in the North East London area. The role is working within the secondary department, supporting behaviour and learning in class settings.

Youth Learning Mentors Requirements:

  • Experience of working with young people with SEMH, Autism, behavioural issues, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication
  • Learning Mentor/ Youth Worker experience
  • Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
  • A passion for working with SEND is essential

The students at the PRU School have been removed from mainstream education and may show challenging behaviour, meaning the applicant must be okay with this and keep control in a disruptive environment. The successful applicants will be supported by SEN Teaching Assistants and Behaviour Mentors who will aid the teacher however possible within the class.
