Part-Time Speech and Language Therapist (Secondary School) – Newham
Position: Speech and Language Therapist (SLT)
Location: Mainstream Secondary School, Newham, London
Contract: Part-Time (specific hours negotiable)
Start Date: January 2025

We believe that effective communication is a cornerstone for success and seek to support our students with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) to achieve their full potential.
The Role:
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our dedicated team. As the SALT, you will work with students aged 11-16, collaborating with teachers, parents, and support staff to assess, plan, and deliver individualized and group therapy interventions. Your expertise will play a key role in helping students develop their communication skills and thrive academically and socially.
I am also more than happy to consider NQ SALT's that are looking to build their career within SEN Education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students' SLCN and create tailored therapy plans.
- Deliver interventions, both one-to-one and in small groups, using evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop strategies and resources that support students' communication needs in the classroom.
- Provide guidance, training, and resources for teachers, support staff, and families.
- Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and adapt interventions as necessary.
- Liaise with external professionals as needed to support holistic care.
Requirements:
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent) and HCPC registration.
- Experience working in educational settings, particularly with secondary school-aged students.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Passion for supporting young people with speech, language, and communication needs.
