Are you an experienced and qualified Teacher looking for a new challenge or career progression?

Have you always had a passion and talent for teaching children with additional needs?

I am actively recruiting creative and engaging teachers for a SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) school in SE London. I am looking for teachers who have a passion for working with SEN/Autism. The school is looking for a number of teachers to join their permanent staff team on a full-time basis ASAP, starting via agency contract to facilitate a quicker start date. The school has two sites with excellent facilities to support children with Autism, there are opportunities for both primary and secondary teachers.

Brief overview:

  • SEND/Autism Teacher
  • Teacher pay scale
  • Location: SE London
  • SEND school: Pupils have a primary diagnosis of Autism or Asperger’s, aged 11-19
  • ASAP start date
  • Ability to engage children with SEND is essential

About the role of Special Educational Needs Teacher:

As a Special Educational Needs Teacher based in this SE London SEND school, you will be responsible for delivering creative and engaging lessons for small classes of children with a primary diagnosis of Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome. Working as a Special Educational Needs Teacher, you will understand that academic development is only possible when you address the primary need first. You will work with the school's multidisciplinary therapy team to ensure the best holistic development possible. These opportunities will suit teachers who have a passion and natural ability to engage children with a SEND diagnosis. You will have the ability to create interactive, therapeutic, and meaningful lessons, helping children reach their full potential.

Requirements for Special Educational Needs Teacher:

To work as a Special Educational Needs Teacher, you will ideally hold QTS or QTLS or have relevant experience as a teacher. Solid experience working with highly vulnerable children, pupils with a diagnosis of Autism/Asperger’s, challenging behaviours, and anxiety disorders is beneficial but we want to hear from ALL teachers. If you are interested in a teaching approach that is holistic and therapeutic but don’t necessarily have this experience yet, please still enquire.

The  school

Based in SE London, the school is close to public transport links  and also offers parking for those who  drive. There are excellent facilities in place for the children with SEND to learn, including a large PE hall, and outside learning space. The school staff are a happy and vibrant team, they love what they do and love the fact that no two days are the same! For teachers coming to this school with no SEND school experience, there is excellent training available, although SEND experience is preferred.  As long as you are an open minded individual who embraces challenges and is looking for an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the lives of pupils faced with individual needs, this could be your chance to make a real difference. The school is especially interested in teaching staff that have experience in teaching English and Maths either at upper KS2 or at KS3 level.
