We are currently working alongside a SEND secondary school, they have students from yr 7 - yr 13 with moderate to severe learning difficulties and a range of complex needs, including autism.
The school believes in providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every learner is valued, challenged, and empowered to achieve their potential.
This role isn't about following a rigid curriculum. It’s about meeting students where they are and guiding them forward at their own pace. Some days, that might mean working through emotions before tackling a maths lesson. We are working with a range of fantastic schools in the London borough of Harrow to find Graduate Teaching Assistants to support students with additional needs, this role in particular is to support KS1 students within a Mainstream Primary School each with an individual EHCP (Education Health Care Plan), the students within this school require extra support inside and outside of the classroom, you would need to manage behaviour, re-direct them to their classwork, work on social skills and communication skills, and other general support.
We have different opportunities available to work with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health, students with Autism, students removed from mainstream education, SEND provisions in mainstream schools and students with other needs.
These opportunities are long-term roles and would see you working in a single school of your choosing.
