As SENCO, you will provide inspiring and purposeful leadership to staff and pupils, ensuring that every child reaches their full potential. You will be responsible for the effective implementation of School Education Health Care Plans, supporting the inclusion of all pupils, and driving continuous improvement in our school's provision for SEND.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the SEN Development Plan, ensuring our school remains at the forefront of inclusive education. Monitor and evaluate the performance of our SEND policies and practices to ensure they meet national, local, and school requirements.
  • Teaching and Learning: Identify and adopt the most effective teaching approaches for pupils with SEND. Collaborate with teachers to tailor learning activities that meet the individual needs of our pupils, fostering their independence and academic growth.
  • Staff Development: Lead the transition to the new SEND Code of Practice. Provide training opportunities for teaching assistants, teachers, and other staff, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to support our pupils effectively.
  • Collaboration: Build and maintain professional relationships with children, families, local authorities, and other professionals. Liaise with the Governing Body to inform them of progress and ensure high standards across all key stages.
  • Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Set challenging targets for pupils with SEND, ensuring early identification and intervention. Keep parents informed about their child's progress and work closely with them to support their development.
  • Quality Assurance: Promote a positive ethos and inclusive culture within the school. Ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities and support their general progress and well-being.

ICT/Computing Teacher London Borough of Camden Permanent Immediate Start We are working with a lovely specialist school based in Central London who are looking to recruit an ICT Teacher. This role would suit an ICT Teacher who is looking for their next challenge or someone who is wanting to explore and specialise in a special educational setting. This role would suit colleagues from a range of teaching backgrounds including mainstream and specialist settings. The school aims to provide the highest quality education to students with special educational needs. The school caters for a range of special education needs, primarily high-functioning autism, anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA). All students will be able to follow a differentiated National Curriculum, with the aim of achieving a range of recognised qualifications at Key Stage 4 and 5 including Entry Level, Functional Skills and GCSEs and other Level 2 qualifications. The role: Plan, design and lead their subject area, including delivering the curriculum across the secondary age range (Yr7 – Yr11), with experience of teaching up to GCSEs and other Level 2 qualifications. Work alongside Primary and Post 16 colleagues to ensure a sequenced learning journey through all stages of the school. Have an interest and a passion for working with students with special educational needs. Have the ability to form positive and trusting relationships with students based on consistency, firm boundaries and making learning exciting and challenging. Contribute to all aspects of the school, including the student’s personal development. For example, running school clubs or supporting on school trips. Have a professional attitude that is open to learning, innovative ways of working, accepting of change and school development, flexible and adaptable when faced with challenges and problems.
