SENCO – Maternity Cover (Immediate Start)

School: Mainstream Primary School
Contract: Full Time (Part Time Considered for the Right Candidate)

Duration: Maternity Cover with Potential for Long-Term Placement
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join a vibrant outstanding mainstream primary school in Plaistow. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children with additional needs, supporting their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on all SEN provision, ensuring that children with additional needs receive the best possible support.
- Manage the SEN register and oversee the creation and implementation of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Liaise with parents, staff, and external agencies to ensure a collaborative approach to SEN support.
- Oversee all SEN-related administration, ensuring that records and processes are kept up-to-date.
- Provide guidance and support to teaching and support staff to enhance SEN provision across the school.
Requirements:
- SENCO qualification (essential).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong knowledge of EHCP processes and experience managing EHCPs.
- Excellent organizational skills with experience in SEN administration.
- A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting children with special educational needs.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
