About the Role

SEN Teaching Assistant Part-Time 

Enfield 

Part-time Hours 9:20 - 14:35 Mon - Frid 

£85 - £95 PAYE Only

Do you have experience working with children with Autism and looking to work in a specialist school?

An outstanding specialist school for children with ASD based in Enfield is seeking bubbly and energetic ASD Teaching Assistants to join its wonderful team. The successful candidate will be able to build positive relationships with pupils using fun and motivating approaches. The candidate must have an understanding of autism and be able to understand total communication methods.

What to expect working as an ASD Teaching Assistant

  • Supporting children with autism 
  • A long term contract, working for the whole academic year with the prospect of becoming a permanent member of the staff
  • Continuous CPD training for all SEN Teaching Assistants, including:  Phonics, Makaton, PECs, Colourful Semantics etc
  • The ability to work in a highly supported staff team within a fantastic specialist school 
  • Gain the opportunity to make a huge difference to the social and emotional development of a SEN child as a 1:1 ASD Teaching Assistant.

Requirements for an ASD Teaching Assistant

  • Previous experience supporting children with ASD, this can also be personal experience. 
  • Proactive and positive about making a difference to children’s development and wellbeing
  • Excel at building relationships with both students and staff
  • Follow clear instructions and able to use your initiative 
  • Positive Behaviour Support (desirable)

Pastoral Mentor Hackney Full Time - Long term Are you passionate about supporting young people with behavioural, social, emotional and mental health needs? We are working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in Central London that caters for students from primary to year 11 across two sites,. The school provides short- and long-term placements for young people unable to attend mainstream education due to behavioural, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as additional diagnoses such as ASC and ADHD. They are seeking an experienced Pastoral Support Mentor to join their team, delivering 1:1 and small group mentoring interventions to students in Key Stage 3. The ideal candidates will already have experience mentoring and supporting young people with behavioural, social and emotional needs. Key Responsibilities: Deliver targeted intervention and mentoring sessions to support emotional well-being and behaviour. Build positive relationships to help students develop resilience and coping strategies. Work with staff and external agencies to create personalised support plans. Monitor progress and encourage engagement in learning. Requirements: Experience working with young people with SEMH needs or in a PRU/SEN setting. Previous experience mentoring students and delivering interventions Strong communication and behaviour management skills. Understanding of trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches. We are working with a school based in Enfield that caters to students 16 - 25 years with SEND, which includes ASC, ADHD, learning difficulties, and speech and language and communication needs. The school are looking for a passionate SEN Employment Support Specialist & Travel Trainer to join their ethical team. Part of the role as a Job Coach will involve supporting the students with their work experience placements and giving guidance, support and advice for their job placements. The other part of the role will be supporting students with independent travel. Key Responsibilities Independent Travel Trainer Deliver tailored travel training to students, ensuring they can navigate public transport safely and independently. Monitor progress, complete checklists, and report updates to line managers, class teams, and other stakeholders. Prepare and implement risk assessments for travel training activities.
