About the Role
Are you an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young children? We are seeking a dedicated Primary SEN Teacher to join our supportive team in Tower Hamlets. This role involves working with a small class of Key Stage 1 (KS1) students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) and additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of each student.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, setting achievable targets and monitoring progress.
- Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that fosters students’ academic and personal growth.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to support the diverse needs of the students.
- Maintain regular communication with parents/carers to keep them informed of their child's progress.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and engagement.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience in teaching primary-aged children.
- Proven experience working with children with SEN, particularly autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
- Strong understanding of SEN best practices and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
