Are you passionate about teaching students with social emotional mental health needs? Do you want to teach within a therapeutic setting?
Are you a Teacher with experience in SEMH settings? Or are you currently teaching in mainstream and seeking a transition into a SEND setting?
SEMH specialist school
We are looking for a SEMH Teacher for a specialist SEMH Primary school based in Epping Forest. The school caters for students who are unable to access mainstream education and has a therapeutic approach to teaching and learning. The class sizes are very small and focus on the individual needs of students, supporting them with emotional regulation so they are able to learn effectively.
The Ideal SEMH Teacher
- Therapeutic teaching approach – SEN or SEMH Teacher
- QTS is a requirement for this role, the school also welcomes applications from Early Career Teachers
- Experience of teaching with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies
- Positive role model to support communication, with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
- Experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication teaching background
- Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with vulnerable students
