About the Role
Teaching Assistant – SEMH

Immediate Start
I am working with a fantastic school based in the borough of Redbridge which pride themselves on their inclusivity and neurodiversity. Pupils range from the ages of 7-19 and present with significant complexity and co-morbidity linked to adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) including childhood trauma or secondary trauma linked to family marginalisation, loss of homes or relationships or pupil bullying and multiple exclusions. The school are seeking a Teaching Assistant – SEMH to provide full support to the students and help change their attitude toward learning. Working at this school will grant you full support of the ambitious headteacher and warm senior leadership team who emphasise the importance of staff and student wellbeing at every opportunity. Most students upon joining the school have experienced approximately three permanent exclusions, have been out of education for up to 18 months or are at risk of developing severe mental health problems and potential involvement with crime. The driven staff have successfully changed the lives of so many children, with 90% entering full-time education, training, or employment within three-five years of leaving this establishment.
